It always drove me crazy in World of Warcraft, how you'd kill a bear or something and only one piece of meat would be viable. Killing a bear means your going to be sick of bear meat before you are half done with it.
Animals with spell components or otherwise useful parts wouldn't just drop them occasionally.
Not exactly an animal but in Rifts there is big money in killing dragons if you know who to sell to.
